About me:

I was born in Dayton, OH and lived there until I was 10 - sorry, but my parents insisted. When my father died, we moved to a very small town so I could get to know my family. Little did I know that everyone in town was my family! I had to catch a man in a town 30 miles away so that I wouldn't turn out to be related to him! He turned out to be quite wonderful and a true Southern gentleman - most of the time!

We built and are still working on a house copied from a home from the 1700s. Never move into a house before it's finished! We did manage to fit in 7 fireplaces and there's a claw foot tub in front of the fireplace in the bedroom.

We love to sit on our upstairs sleeping porch to read and sip iced tea - perhaps the occasional mint julep. We are surrounded by corn fields, cows, and horses. There's even an adorable mule in the next field.

As Southern hosts, we always have pound cake available to serve with tea. It's unthinkable to have guests and not feed them something delicious.

And, as a true Southern lady, I always wear my pearls!

Living in and loving the South!
