An October Day - a little late!

This is the most beautiful tree in our yard.
It is an Autumn Flame Maple.
The leaves start turning their beautiful red around the first
of the year.
The fell off almost all at once
and were gone the day before Hallowe'en.
We planted 5 of these magnificent trees.
2 died the first year.
2 look so pitiful that we're planning to cut them down.
This one stands in all its glory.
What a beauty!

The last rose of summer!

Hydrangeas ready to be picked for fall arrangements.
Perhaps some to be sprayed gold to add to the
Christmas tree.

Have a great day!

August Flowers and Herbs - A Little Late

Snowball, Hysop, Day Lily, and Weeds

Roses and Rudbeckia

Snowballs

Queen Anne's Lace at the Edge of the Woods

My little English garden has been beautiful this summer
- despite having no attention from me.
The hollyhocks came up, but did not bloom.
The hardy hibiscus with the huge magenta blooms bloomed beautifully,
but I wasn't able to get out to make a picture.
Lest I should forget, it is in the front left wine barrel.
All of my lavender died this year.
A tragedy!
Here's hoping that next year will be better!

First Flowers of Spring

Despite the winds and chilly weather, our flowers are becoming quite lovely.
The roses are full of blooms this morning, but pictures are impossbile because the rain is peppering down.

It's a wonderful morning for sitting by the window and sipping cappuccino.
I've become addicted to my beading.

It has been many years since I beaded professionally, but the minute I picked up my needle and thread, the bug bit yet again.
I have decided that the direction I should take is toward designing and offering kits for jewelry making.
I will be offering a few finished pieces for sale in the galleries that I worked with in the old days, but I'm getting too slow to offer finished jewelry on a regular basis.
I will post on this site when new items are on offer.

My regular website is
http://www.deerhaven.etsy.com

I will be opening another site soon that will be dedicated to my jewelry and kits.
